Buggy P-ARCDesigned by Henry Kulk and modified by me to use the MH108 profile in the centre. Flies very well, but I would modify the next one to have -1 or -2 degrees AOA rather than zero degrees. I think this would get the kite going quicker. Flies with the rear lines completely slack. Might work as a two line kite. Inflation is good with two valves. Needs to keep moving in light winds, otherwise it folds up and flaps about. When the wind is strong it is rock solid. Too small for surfing but it should make a great snow kite. I like that it has no bladders. Would be nice to try a bigger one. I think it would struggle to relaunch off water. Click on the images below for a bigger picture... constructionUpper and lower skins from AIRX ripstop nylon, ribs from polytarp. All seams taped. Dacron reinforcement at the corners and dacron batten pockets. Battens are old tent poles. |
